Analog and Digital

The differences between analog data vs digital data.

Audio in multimedia has two types which is analog and digital. Both are created using the microphone that turning air pressure which is sound into an electrical analog signal.

As I written in last week topic group discussion, analog is recording made by then imprinting the signal directly onto the master record..

Digital is recording that analog signal and convert it into a digital representation of the sound, which is essentially a series of number for digital software to interpret. It can be copied and placed into disc, hard disk, or online.

Digital takes a few ‘snapshots’ of the number line, while analog takes the whole line into account. Digital record are recorded on a computer program such as Pro Tools and analog would be something that was recorded on tape and produced using manual equipment to mix.

For example, number 1 and 2 on a number line, there are actually an infinite number of points between 1 and 2. This is what analog present. For digital, it only look at certain number of fixed point between 1 and 2 (example, ½, ¼,1 2/6)

In this discussion topic, I have attached an image of wave movement of analog and digital, so that we can know the different of analog and digital wave. 




Two type of compression techniques; lossy and loselss compression. 

Lossy and lossless are category of image compression.

Lossy compression reduces the file size by permanently eliminating certain information, especially redundant information. Example of lossy compression file format is JPEG.

Lossless compression are retains raster values during compression and the file size is also reduced. For example, LZ77 is a lossless compression file type.




Elements of Multimedia

Elements in development of multimedia product :

1. text word processor that very important for communication in any medium. it often used for tittles, headlines, menus, navigation and content in multimedia. it is most recommended that the text should be presented with combination of graphic.

2. audio – audio can provide listening pleasure of music and special effects. It can help a blind people to receive the information easily. there is two types of audio, which is analogy and digital audio. Analog is the original sound signal. Digital audio refer to digital sampling of actual sound. Usually in multimedia are using a digital sound.

3. video – useful communication tool that can use in presentation. it can use to portray real time moving picture in multimedia project. the video can be edited and save in files of computer.

4. images – images or graphic is a structured drawing tool, paint programs, scanner or photograph taken using a digital camera.

5. animation – process of making static image object that look like it moving or illusion of movement. It also know as animator. digital animation has two categories, which is 2D and 3D.



Differentiate the terms of Media, Multi-Media and Multimedia

from my research, there is a differentiate the term of media, multi-media and multimedia.

1. Media – is a form of communication technologies. there is two types of media, which is traditional media and social media. traditional media is television, radio, newspaper, magazine, newsletters, tax press and other type print publication. Social media is the new generation of digital, computerized, or network information and communication technologies. for example, Wikipedia and Facebook.

2. Multi-media – is a transmission media that use more than one type of communication media. For example, radio and television to deliver the information.

3. Multimedia – is computer based that has various information or any combination of text, graphic, sound, animation and video that delivered by computer.



Multimedia in Art Education

“Why use multimedia in classroom setting in teaching art education”?

In my point of view, using multimedia in classroom setting can help student to enhance the learning facility and can attract student attention in learning. Using multimedia in classroom setting is the way of fun learning method than using the traditional method. Besides that, multimedia offer a good benefit in education, it can show picture, text, sound, video, animation and graphic. As we know the painting by famous artist like “Pablo Picasso” are in overseas and as a Malaysian student, it need much cost to go oversea to look at famous painting by Pablo Picasso. So, this is one of benefit using multimedia in art education which is we can see a famous painting using a multimedia (picture).


Making Aerospace from Recycle Material

hi…today i will post about making an aerospace from the recycled material. not all people has been enhance with the function of recycled material. there a lot of things can do with the recycle material.

so, this is the tutorial to make an aerospace from the recycled material.

Step by step in making an aerospace


start with scale the shape and cutting the magazine cover


fold the ends and upper (combine parts) of the paper with ruler to make that part easily to fold and combine with other


put the right and left side of paper that has cutting and combine it with glue




and finally..!!!!! i finish make an aerospace from the recycled material.



1. The primary types of criteria used to analyze learners

In ASSURE model, analyze learner are the first step in ASSURE model. the first step, we must know our target audient. We need to analyze and write down the relevant information. The primary types of criteria used to analyze learners is their general characteristic ( grade level, age, sex, mental, emotional, physical or social problem, socio-economic status etc.) and specific entry competencies (prior knowledge, skills, and attitudes about the topic), and learning styles (visual, music, verbal, logical, etc.)


2. Why are learning objectives an important aspect of lesson planning?

Learning objective is a statement of what student will be able to do when they have completed instruction. Objective learning is focused on the learner. Learning objective has 3 major components which is a description of what the student will be able to do, the conditions under which the student will perform the task and the criteria for evaluating student performance. Besides that, teacher may not be able to access student achievement without the learning objectives.

Learning objective is important in aspect of lesson planning because it states specifically what a student should be able to do. It’s important that learning objective need to be specific and measurable where it can help teacher in selecting the appropriate media and teaching method that can be use. There also have a number of resources on learning objectives online that can use. Learning objective are not just learning objective, it specify the skills, but there also attitudes and knowledge to be considered in lesson plan. Learning objective will tell student what the important. Other than that learning objective enable good assessment development and it encourage reflection and good course design and development.


3. What are the four components of a well-written objective?

The objective statement is describing on what the learner will do as a result of instruction. Thing that to keep in mind as I write before, it is should focused on the learner, not teacher, use behavioural that reflect the real world concern and also must ensure the objective are descriptions of the learning outcomes and are written using four components of a well-written objective ABCD format which are consist of:

A – Audient     – refer to student in which specifies the learner for whom the objective is intended.

B – Behaviour- refer to what do you want them to do? The behaviour need to be demonstrated as

learner performance, an observable, measureable behaviour or a real world skill.

C – Condition- refers to what circumstances or condition are the learner to demonstrate the skill.

D – Degree    – refer to how well do you want then to demonstrate their mastered or degree to

which the new skill must be mastered.


4. List and describe procedures for selecting, modifying and designing strategies, technology and media

Selecting, modifying and designing strategies, technology and media are necessary into bring out the result.

First, figure out what which delivery method will be best for instruction. For instance, what proportion of will be student cantered? The first of these are strategies such as lecture, demonstration or showing video. Second are the strategies such as group discussion or cooperative group work. Learning will be more exciting when there is more class participation. The ultimately, the learner must gain mastery over the material, not the teacher. However, teacher needs to give information and technique to give over and demonstrate. Once that teaching strategies has been selected, it is time to figure out which technology, media and materials best support method of teaching that can be using. It ranges from the simple tools such as chalk and blackboard or PowerPoint. What must be remember must be remembered is that the instructor is the essential ingredient in giving over the material. Fancy tools are useful, but it boils down to having someone who knows more than what the textbook contain. Besides that, teacher can make teaching tool by their self to make the learning more exciting.
